Daniel currently serves as professor of the Department of Engineering Chemistry and Bioprocess from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Doctor in Food Science with Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology, UC Davis. Postdoc in microbial genomics, also at UC Davis. Engineer in Molecular Biotechnology from Faculty of Sciences, University of Chile. Professor Garrido is part of the UC Davis Chile’s Scientific and Industry Advisory Board.
His main lines of research are microbial genomics and transcriptomics; intestinal microbiome, probiotics and prebiotics, food microbiology and functional foods.
